Il progetto Metal Addiction nasce dalla volontà da parte di due gruppi Punk, i Sun Eats Hours e il gruppo giapponese Nicotine, di interpretare a proprio modo brani storici dell’Hard ‘N’ Heavy, tanto che il sottotitolo dell’opera recita appunto “Punk Rockers Remaking Heavy Metal Hits”. Grazie ad una tecnica sopraffina e ad un intelligente uso delle voci, la band riesce ad impreziosire le canzoni con grande personalità, senza però offuscarne il fascino originale. Particolarmente fortunata la rivisitazione di “Rain” dei The Cult, singolo estratto da questa collection.
